Only a few years ago, I stumbled upon a Paint by Numbers kit during the Covid-19 lockdowns, unaware that it would become a vital part of my mental health and healing journey. With each brushstroke, I found myself navigating through deep emotions and managing my day-to-day stress. Painting became my sanctuary, and it was more therapeutic than I could have ever imagined.
As a former perfectionist, I realized that my obsession with perfection was hindering my ability to enjoy the creative process fully. I was constantly scrutinizing my work, noticing every mistake and every missed brush stroke. It was then that I decided to face my perfectionism head-on, and through art, I found a way to do so.
I was drawn to fluid art, particularly a new medium called Alcohol Ink. The inks move freely on the page, creating lines and movement. Unique patterns come to life with or without input from the artist. With each drop of ink, I discovered a new perspective, and my artwork became a reflection of my passion for life and my commitment to creating something that touches the hearts of all who view it, regardless of imperfections.
